  • We decided to trust the process, and my daughter attended Sapientia through 6th grade. I was anxious that the transition would be difficult after coming from the intimate and fairly sheltered environment of the Montessori classroom, but it was just the opposite. It quickly became apparent that her time... read more at Sapientia not only gave her an excellent educational foundation, but also the quiet confidence in herself that she needed to not only navigate the change successfully but to blossom in the new environment.

Our children love going to school each day. My son, who is about to turn 5, has gone here over 2 years now and is advanced in reading and mathematics thanks to his wonderful teacher. Not only this, but he enjoys learning and seeks out challenges. Even throughout the pandemic,... read more the school did a great job adapting and communicating with families about what was going on. I also love how the school focuses on the whole child and not just academics (e.g. encouraging healthy eating and teaching children to be mindful of their emotions). The stability in teaching staff compared to what I see in other local preschools is also greatly appreciated. We are so happy with this school that we continue to commute to it despite having moved almost 15 minutes further away.

  • My son attended Sapientia from 2nd to 5th grade and I must say I am very pleased with the whole experience. The care, interest and responsibility from the staff, teachers and of course Ms. Kalika towards my son was in my opinion excellent! Because of the excellent education he got... read more at Sapientia my sons drive for learning is probably every parents dream. He learned about personal morals, about human rights and even some basic home economics which I think is vital for children to have. He learned to take responsibility for one another and help each other in class. He was push to do his best in every subject, Ms. Kalika always told me, "It is my job to set the foundation (I'll never for it when she said it) so that the children can be self sufficient" and you know what my son is self sufficient! anything he doesn't understand he finds out and he finds out how to do it pretty much all on his own. During our time at the school we even got to experience and learn about the United Nations, we got to Travel to New York and got to address real life situations at the UN, because of my son's participation in this, It gave him so much personal growth, he went from being very quite and maybe a little shy to a proud self confident young boy. I can go on with some many more great stories. I can tell you that you'll be pleased just as I am. I am also pleased to let you know that on some of my sons recent testings he scored way above grade level. I am grateful for Ms. Kalika and her educators and I highly recommend this school. MC

Our two boys have had a great experience at this school. The Montessori method of teaching is extremely effective and allows kids to move at their own pace. Highly recommended!

  • I am writing this review for Sapientia, and Cedar Park Montessori combined. My children both began attending Cedar Park Montessori, after moving to Cedar Park area 10 years ago. We got very high recommendations from family friends in the area and decided to check it out for ourselves and... read more interview the school. That is what I do I am a former Marine, and want to make sure my children get the best possible education, and I want to also ensure my children are SAFE. So my wife and I began the process and applied while being put on a waiting list. After a brief wait our children began at ages 6, and 3, results for my oldest were immediate. She loved the whole process, and was an ideal child for Montessori. My youngest took time, he is extremely shy, and took a little longer to get the gist of learning in this environment. I was constantly skeptical if he was actually getting anything, until BAM it happened! Probably into his 2nd year in the system he came out of his shell, his teachers at the time get GREAT credit for me I am forever grateful to Miss Debbie and Miss Khalika. There was a very comfortable environment for the children, while it was just big enough to promote excellent social interaction which is very important to us. The various projects and U.N. Conference Trips are lifetime memories and milestones for both of my children. Sadly enough after 5th grade for both of my children it was time to enter the Public system, and this is where the magic began, or should I say was displayed. I always knew my oldest was bright and ambitious but once she got to middle school I got to see her work ethic which she always had very strong character, but I got to see the fruits of her labor in CP Montessori, and the work ethic they helped to develop within her, she is an amazing young lady. Then came my youngest...WOW I am so proud of this shy little boy who has gone on from mathematical doubtful to a "Human Calculator", and his confidence level academically is off the charts. He also has displayed a tremendous work ethic which we take some credit for, but also know that CP Montessori and Sapientia prepared them to succeed. I only wish I had more children

My children have been attending Sapientia since 2016.Between the kids, we have had great experience with the school's toddler room, primary room (pre-k) and elementary classrooms. This review hopes to summarize our experience pre-covid and during the covid times (1) Leadership: The principal Ms Kalika is in general, on top of things.... read more Her leadership was particularly evident when the school transitioned from in-person to remote learning in a snap during March 2020. (2) Quality of education: Montessori based learning is very hands on and engaging. My children love working on their lessons and would always be excited to show off their lessons during watch me work day, which during the pre-covid times, happened twice in a semester. In order to retain the hands on experience as much as possible with remote learning, the school provided high quality printed materials at the start of this school year. (3) Staff retention: Having seen our share of daycares across the many states we have lived in, it goes without saying that this school has a high staff retention ratio, which has offered tremendous stability for our children (4) 1-1 attention: the class teacher is always in tune with the child's needs and abilities. (5) communication: Whenever we felt the need to talk about our childrens performance, how they adapted as they moved classrooms etc, the teacher/principal was very accommodating of our schedules to meet and discuss. Being a first time mother, and still learning how to handle various emotions and behaviors of a child, the school teachers have been quite a guiding force that I would always be grateful for. (6) connecting with young children during remote learning: remote learning has been challenging for children in general and is particularly hard on young children. The teachers in the primary room have demonstrated quite a knack for holding the child's attention for the entire duration of the class -be it general learning or arts or spanish language. (7) practical life: From an early age, there is emphasis on self-reliance and independence. Children in the primary classroom are taught practical life lessons such as kitchen skills, cleaning, taking care of themselves and their environment. (8) child's character: The teachers strive to bring out the best in the children. There are rules, boundaries but I have never seen these rules affect my children in any negative way. (9) extra -curricular offerings: The school attracts high quality teachers for many extra curricular activities such as chess, piano etc. For any parent that is looking for a caring, nurturing environment for an overall development of a child in addition to learning, look no further than Sapientia Montessori.

A word from parents

We learned about the Montessori way of teaching after we realized that our son was just not enjoying going to our local pre-school. We did a lot of research and found many ‘Montessori’ schools in Austin. None were as intriguing as Sapientia Montessori.

I made an appointment to meet with the Director of the school. My first meeting with her was amazing. The passion that she has towards the education of our children and her extensive knowledge of the Montessori way of teaching are commendable. The teachers at Sapientia Montessori are very knowledgeable and well qualified in the Montessori teaching. They are passionate, caring and very patient. What we also love about Sapientia Montessori is that the teachers have three years to get to know a child. They are able to follow the child at their own pace as well as guide them toward challenging lessons. The teachers build a strong bond not only with the child, but with the family as well. Interaction with older peers to learn and younger peers to teach imbibes a natural way of learning and leadership in the children. Our two children have been in Sapientia Montessori since they were 18 months old and the all-round academic and extra-curricular progresses they have made are phenomenal.

We have all our 3 children attending Cedar Park Montessori (CPM) at or before they were 2 years old. I could not have asked for better results. Since CPM is an AMI accredited school, they are sticklers to the Montessori way so we see our children’s development and growth every single day.

The teachers and staffs are caring, attentive, engaging, yet firm, which we like. With the CPM foundation, our two older boys (11 and 8) are now thriving in public school, especially with their QUEST and PACE classes. And already we are seeing huge changes to our 2.5 year-old daughter, who’s becoming more and more independent each week. CPM allowed our children to explore and also challenged them when needed. We highly recommend this school.
